Following point is incorrect:
"2 税前收入超过$75000的纳税人,可以考虑利用salary sacrifice往自己的养老保险里面放钱来降低自己的个人所得税(要和老板商量,这个同样可以用来贷款买车,很有好处,减税买车又低,还可以拿回GST"
First of all, the 30% tax rate for individuals for 2008-2009 financial year is officially $34,001-$80,000. (you can confirm this on ATO website). LZ is still referring to the 2007-2008 financial year tax rates.
Also, if you are trying to say you can save tax by making tax deductible contribution into superannuation, why is it not beneficial for people with income in the 30% tax rate to use such strategy?
Its still worthwhile doing it because you only get taxed 15% tax when funds go into super, compared to 31.5% tax individual tax rate (including medicare levy), which means you save 16.5% tax. So technically, any person in the 30% tax rate or above can potentially use this strategy to save tax.
Following point needs more consideration:
"4 如果有房屋Capital Gain, 可以考虑卖掉一些不会轻易赚钱的投资(例如股票),用来抵消这部分收入"
If you bought the shares due to its long term capital gains potential and its good dividend payment (assuming blue chip shares), you can use the above strategy to create capital loss, but you lose the shares. So if you intend to hold onto them for the long term, you can consider buying the shares back immediately after you sold them, this way, you have got your capital loss you wanted to offset any other capital gain, but you still got the shares at pretty much the same price, but plus extra brokerage cost.
Following point may need readers to clarify with ATO before any actions:
"5 如果想卖掉股票或者其他投资,可以考虑在6月20号之后卖,这样就可以把这部分盈利的所得税推迟到下一个财政年度"
In my past dealings with ATO, they have assured me when selling shares, the capital event has happened on the date of the sale, not when the sale proceeds come through. So if you sell shares on or after 20 June in any financial year, that gain should be included in current financial year, not the following financial year.
I can be wrong on this, (or ATO could have misinformed me) so please confirm with ATO before any actions.
Last point seems very subjective and not based on enough reseach:
"当你养老金的余额达到100000左右,可一考虑自我管理养老金,所需要的费用比交给大公司管理要低得多"
Normal retail super funds charge a 1.1%-2% annual management cost, on $100,000 investment, that would be $1,100-$2,000 a year.
Normal industry super funds charge a 0.3%-0.8% annual management cost, on $100,000 investment, that would be $300-$800 a year.
Please inform all readers accounting costs and auditing costs a Self Managed Super Fund requires to pay on annual basis.
And remember, these are only admin costs, a person managing Self Managed Super Fund also need to put in time and effort to make decisions in investing their own money. Assuming opportunity cost per hour of an average person is $20, and that person spends 2 hours a week on investment efforts.
Thats a total cost of $20 x 104 hours =$2,080.
And we havent even touched brokerage cost in buying shares yourself.
"所需要的费用比交给大公司管理要低得多" is this statement valid??
Plus also remember if there are any breach of rules by trustee of the Self Managed Super Fund, there could be significantly bad consequences. |
