忙碌了一个晚上，就为了救助一只从房顶掉到地上的大鸟。傍晚时候听到一声巨响后，看到一只白色的大鸟撞到玻璃窗又摔倒在院子里面，腿儿摔断了，该怎么办呢，长长的嘴巴该不会咬我吧。嘴巴好长的，我不了解鸟类，怕它觉得我是去攻击它，于是拿起电话打了一圈朋友，没有一个有过类似经历的人，无助之下打给警察叔叔，警察叔叔态度真是不错，仔仔细细询问详情之后给了我一个local council 电话，马上打过去报告事件经过，对方说是谁让我给他们打电话的，我如实说是警察叔叔，然后内大爷又给我一个动物保护组织的电话，再次打过去又是询问一遍什么颜色多大的，嘴巴什么样的，腿儿什么样的，我都急的快骂人了。他丫滴问那么多却告诉我这件事不归他管，让我找wires，wildlife rescue,电话再次拔通后却是听了5分钟语音提示。这办事效率太低，太死板了，大鸟的腿儿在流血，天空飘着小雨啊，我勒个去。。。
1) If you have found a sick, injured or orphaned animal, remove any threat to the animal.

This includes keeping all people and pets away from the native animal, to minimise stress to the animal for vet transport or until a rescuer arrives.
2) If it is safe to do so, please contain the animal in a warm, dark, quiet place.
For example, gently wrap the animal in a towel and place it in a ventilated box with a lid and transport it carefully to the nearest vet or wait for the rescuer to arrive.
3) Do not give the animal any food or water, unless instructed to by a vet or WIRES.

If you contact WIRES after hours we will call you back early the next morning. Overnight, if it is safe to do so, please follow the instructions above and take any sick or injured wildlife to your nearest 24 hour vet.
