The examiner will never ask for the dates of the composer - it is written on the score anyway.
Usually in Grade 4, the examiner will focus more on the piece itself, i.e. key/time signature, modulations, meaning of Italian terms, and maybe what the title of the piece means (where applicable, e.g. Etude, Sonata).
The most they can ask about the composer is their nationality, the musical period they were in, and what types of pieces they composed (e.g. orchestral music, piano, songs). |
