官方数据澳洲 Highway 1 的总里程是约14,500 公里 （+1000公里, 看行程）， 所以总行程约为15,500公里。
我根据google map 把全程分为5部分(请看下边的Google map)。加起来全程是14,864公里。如果走中部Uluru， 全程是15,667公里。
时间1个半月到3个月之间。
每天行程约300-500公里。
最好是房车，也可以住帐篷CAMPING。你如果有别的建议也可以。
这里说每年会有10,000人环绕，差不多每个rest area会有3-10个RVs。
Use Highway One
If you’re going around the outside of the continent, the best way by far is to use Highway One. It ranges from six lane highways to single lane roads, but is made up the whole way round. It’s also the only made up road around the top and North West of Australia. For breaks and overnight stops, Highway One has rest areas, with toilet facilities, every 100 kilometres or so (62.5 miles) in the more remote areas. Most travellers consider it safe to stay overnight in these rest areas, and many do. You are unlikely to be alone – there are typically three to ten RVs there most nights (as some 100,000 people a year do this trip). Excellent and constantly updated guides are available on places to stay along the highway. Most towns along the way have a caravan park if you need greater comfort and more facilities.

反时钟方向转。时间待定。
我在Melbourne, 如果阿德来德的有人参加，阿德来德的先期出发，到Melbourne, 我们Melbourne的加入队伍；然后北上悉尼，悉尼的入团；然后北上布里斯本，然后再北上，再一路向西，再南下Perth后向东。此时可以考虑去中部的Alice Springs和Uluru （Ayers rock）；不去的话，就沿high way 1 直接回到阿德来德, 阿德来德的可以完满完成行程回家，然后Melbourne的脱团，随后悉尼和布里斯本脱团。
上面我只举大点的城市作为例子，如有任何地方的同学想参加，无任欢迎，但时间很重要。
Melbourne ---> Port Douglas, 3799KM
Port Douglas ---> Port Hedland, 5079KM
Port Hedland ---> Perth, 1765KM
perth到Adelaide有两个选择，个人倾向于走中部Uluru.
option 1 (via Uluru ), Perth ---> Adelaide, 4061KM
Option 2 (via border village ), Perth ---> Adelaide 3262KM
Adelaide ---> Melbourne, 963km
我本人并没有太多的长时间驾驶经历。只曾经3次从Melbourne到Sydney, 然后到Brisbane, 然后从内陆的39公路返回。1次阿德来德的往返。另外有1 次 tasmania 的road trip 和 2 次新西兰南岛 road trip.
