一提到behaviour interview 头就大了,刚刚学校毕业的毕业生,本来经验就不丰富,还要具体举例子,我是想破了脑袋,也想不出behaviour interview 的答案啊。。之前几个大公司的interview相继落马,都是栽在behaviour interview上,以让我举例子,而且还要具体描述,真是难。。 问得问题也是恐怖啊。。什么举例子在工作中最大的achievement, 举例子怎么样克服工作中的什么什么,唉。。我最怕就是讲故事,而且还得编假的啦。。人生阅历不丰富,哪里去找那么多specific examples啊。。一听到behaviour question 的时候,心跳就加快了。然后就胡乱说一通大学时的assignment 的时,说完就感觉简直是不着边啊。。只有上坛子来向各位大仙请教 大家都是怎么应付behaviour interview的啊。。主要是怎么能正确答到点子上,答出提问题的人期待的答案,但又能通过例子 反映出自己的能力? 有谁是故事大王,指点指点吧!

不要编,弄不好还失去诚信。
去做些义工啦,零工拉,就算没人看得上的餐馆工也足够让你说故事了,比如,toughest customer, team work, leadership, achievement, problem with leader, problem with co-worker...etc

What is Behavior Based Interviewing?
Behavior based interviewing focuses on experiences, behaviors, knowledge, skills and abilities that are job related. It is based on the belief that past behavior and performance predicts future behavior and performance. You may use work experience, activities, hobbies, volunteer work, school projects, family life - anything really - as examples of your past behavior. Current employment literature indicates that there is a strong trend towards this type of interviewing. In addition to questions found in many current resources, you should also consider the following in your interview preparations.
Use the "S.T.A.R" formula to create your answer in a story format.

S = Situation
Describe a similar work situation from a former job

T=Task
Describe the task and challenge you faced

A=Action
Use action verbs (i.e. developed, initiated, performed, implemented) to describe what steps you took to overcome that task and challenge

R=Results
Finish your story with the positive results

How Can I Prepare for A Behavioral Interview?
•        Analyze the type of positions for which you箁e applying. Try to get an actual job description. What skills are required by employers?
•        Analyze your own background. What skills do you have (content, functional, and adaptive) that relate to your job objective?
•        Identify examples from your past experience where you demonstrated those skills. How can you "tell a story" about your use of particular skills or knowledge? Concentrate on developing complete PAR answers and remember that a good story has a beginning, middle and end.
•        Wherever possible, quantify your results. Numbers illustrate your level of authority and responsibility.
•        Be prepared to provide examples of when results didn箃 turn out as you planned. What did you do then?
•        Before starting the interview process, identify 2 to 3 of your top selling points and determine how you will convey these points (with demonstrated PAR stories) during the interview.
•        Once employed, keep a personal achievement diary to help document demonstrated performance (PAR stories).

恩。谢谢maomaowa。分析得很全面,但关键就是举不出来例子比较头疼,好像感觉举的都是在学校做assignment的事,估计面试官也听腻了,很难找到生动的,又能打动面试官同时体现自己能力的例子,脑袋都想大了,都想不出几个,工作有关的,主要都是personal life or academic life.

不好意思,刚才没时间写,顺便贴了点东西
这些看起来是挺虚的。你准备好问题,写下你的答案,要有条理。跟讲故事一样,或者是跟老朋友聊天一样,要有条理,答到点上。

无非就是team player/ time management/ customer service/ problem solving


生活学习上的都可以,如果你没有工作经验的话,其实打工的工作经验也可以,不要以为没啥讲的,角度不同,你要觉得你做的小事情很了不起

他们只是通过听你的故事,判断你的personality and people skills. 这个时代最缺自信的人,不是语言的问题。注意要笑!

比方说:team player-  i have done many group assignment with other students. there was a topic calledxxxx, I was in a group of 8. I looked after the partxxxxx, and we cooperated and got along very well. our group assignment was A.

time management- i like to plan my time in advance. I use calendar /dirary to plan my semester, and my study goal, or my career goal.. for my daily life, i well organized my study life and social life. I like to finish task on time, that makes me feel good at end of the day.

customer service- i worked as waitress in a cafe..there was a customer lost his movie tickets in our restaurant. when he came back looking for the tickets, i tried my best assisting him finding it in the rubish bin..../  

problem solving- there was ..... and I xxxxxxxx, and finally the problem was solved....  xxxx is happy with the result.....

Focus on what action you have done, and the good result because of that...

fake some examples, or sth not actioned by you maybe by your friends...

哇。楼上的东西很全呢,帮助很大呢,我去过的interview雇主给的feedback都是说我举不了列子,看来我要花时间好好想想怎么讲故事。 而且可能答得答案,太普遍,说服不了面试管。不过我一直在想一个问题,其实每个面试者答得问题都差不多,就好像答“what value you are bring to the company" 或者“your strengths" 我觉得答来答去都是那几句,但面试管怎么来differentiate interviee啊
