Software engineer

Working closely with trading and the China Squad in Sydney, you’ll be building and optimising our automated trading systems and connections to the exchanges. You’ll be working collaboratively with other top-class developers as well as researching and integrating new technologies into our systems as the opportunities arise.
We have many different roles across the business which we are recruiting for , from trading applications engineers, GUI developers, engineers with strong data skills and even low-level server/network developers. We are interested in all of you. Our trading applications are all in C++ on Linux and our trading GUI's are currently C#.NET. We also use Python quite extensively across the business.
Your skills and experience
• Commercial software engineering / development experience using any language - C++, Java, C#, Python etc.
• A passion for delivering high quality software which is scalable, clean, fast and reliable
• Strong problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to drive technical innovation and work in a self-sufficient manner
• An understanding of multiprocessing hardware architecture, including recent technology advances is highly regarded
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with TDD, agile methodologies, visualisation or data-driven development would be nice but are not essential

Trading system engineer

You’re a technologist at heart and crave the challenge of learning how things work under the hood. You're a solution-oriented engineer who enjoys solving problems and having a direct impact on the business. You want to work with systems end-to-end and you don’t shy away from intricate low level details. A critical thinker when it comes to troubleshooting and analysis, you have strong attention to details, great initiative and are always proactively looking to improve how things work. You are hands on and always have a passion for technology and possess the following skills, attributes and experience:
• Fluent in both Mandarin and English is a must
• 5-7 years’ experience working as a Systems Administrator, Site Reliability Engineer, Release Manager or any technical role that requires complex troubleshooting, incident management and production support
• A solid understanding of Linux is required • Experience with Networking, Python scripting, and/or software development is highly desirable
• Customer-focused; excellent verbal, written and face-to-face communication skills with the ability to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders alike
• A dynamic player and have the ability to think on your feet
• Demonstrated ability to keep a ‘cool head’ when under pressure.
