The Role: A PhD student scholarship is available for a self -motivated individual to join a collaborative research team at the school of Aerospace Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, RMIT University. The team, working under Professor John Mo, Discipline Head of Manufacturing and Material Engineering, consists of staff from RMIT University, collaborative universities and industrial partners in Melbourne. The research is on high speed manufacturing processes of components for next generation aircrafts using non-traditional metals. The research will be based at our Bundoora campus.

The Person: Applicants are expected to have a background in manufacturing or mechanical engineering, or mechatronics. A knowledge of, or experience with signal process or software development will be an advantage. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will commence his/her study from July 2008. The applicant should be eligible to enrol in to the PhD program in RMIT.

Remuneration: The scholarship is available for 3 years. Successful applicants will be offered a stipend equivalent to an APA scholarship for full-time students. It is available to Australian citizens and permanent residents. International applicants are also welcome to apply, however, the normal international student tuition fees cannot be waived and they will have to pay from their own sources.
