Description
An opportunity exists for a Planner /HV Operator based in Geelong.



As a Planner / HV Operator, you will conduct detailed planning and switching options for System outage requirements and produce the subsequent Distribution HV and LV operating instructions. You will also be responsible for switching operations on zone substations, sub-transmission and distribution HV and LV System in both planned and unplanned situations.



To fulfil this role successfully, you will possess an electrical trade or technical background.  It is preferred that you will have completed studies in an Electrical field combined with a minimum of 5 years experience working on HV electrical network in a technical role and/or previous work experience on the electrical Sub transmission and distribution system with an appreciation of OMS/GIS/SCADA.  



Further, you will demonstrate:



·          An understanding of relevant regulatory codes, VESI Design and Construction Practice for Distribution and Sub Transmission Network systems

·          Excellent working knowledge of the electrical sub transmission and distribution network

·          Good knowledge of HV Operating procedures, practices and outage planning

·          The ability to work within tight operational timeframes producing Operating instructions from an application

·          An ability to determine key contingency plans in the event of a major plant outage and be able to fulfil a diversity of roles during an emergency situation

·          Flexibility in carrying out operating tasks under extremely poor weather and light conditions.



Employment will be subject to the candidate successfully completing a pre- employment medical examination (which includes hearing test, colour blindness and physical examination) and relevant drug and alcohol test, to assess fitness for work.
