本文荣获财经版征文比赛第一名 实际上，我这是十年谈。 自98年离开美国运通，就走上投资这条路，一直以来都没有好好回顾这些，趁此机会跟大家一起回忆一下吧。中文打字特慢，还是英文吧： I joint the treasury team of a well known global financial service group in Sydney in 1998. As a Treasury Analyst, I was responsible for cash management and reporting. The role involved with preperation of daily cash forecasting, advising dealers on the company cash position on daily basis and reporting to APRA and ASIC on monthly basis. I started my post-graduate study in Applied Finance and Investment in early 2000. Just before I completed my first subject, there was an opportunity in Structured Finance in one of the 4 major Australian banks. The first interview had lasted for more than an hour. My accounting and Structured Finance knowledge was thoroughly tested. Luckily, I was able to answer few finance questions from my lecture had one week before. The 2nd interview was with the Head of Structured Finance and the 3rd one was with the Group Treasuer. The conversation that I remember the most was that after he found out that I lived at Parramatta, he commented: "The centre of Sydney". I then commenced my carrer in the specialised industry during Sydney Olympic time. The 5 years experience with this well known bank gave me the explosure in interpreting legal documentations, dealing with lawyers and financial market dealers. I had developed my skill not only in debt market but also finacial modelling. Most inportantly, I made number of friends who support me the rest of my life. I joint another one of 4 pillars as an Senior Analyst in 2005. In there, I involved with setting up a $8 billion deal - the biggest Australian deal ever. When I resigned from the bank, my boss said to me "This is a big blow to the bank...". I was glad that my contribution was well recognised. I became an enployee of a world class UK based investment bank couple of weeks before the Credit Crunch started. Since then, everyday is challenge for me......... I have no regrets with my career over the last 10 years. However, I must admit that I have been working too hard for the banks but have not done enough investment for myself and my family.
