Qualifications:
A demonstrated knowledge of system administration, Unix (Solaris, HP Unix, AIX etc) is essential. Working knowledge with data protection related hardware systems such as SCSI, RAID, tape drives and libraries and knowledge of databases such as (Oracle, Informix and DB2 etc) would be highly desired. Keeping your knowledge current will be critical to your on-going success.

Responsibilities:
As a Technical Support Engineer you will be part of a team that focuses on providing timely solutions to client technical problems. Based upon the assigned product(s) you will provide support directly to customers or to Symantec employees who work with external clients.
Your day to day duties will involve taking support calls directly from customers, taking accurate notes and trying to provide timely solutions. You may also need to research and reproduce customer problems in the lab to find these solutions. You may also be required to attend the customer’s site to resolve problems.
