Book now for Burrendong !! Bookings for 2013 hunting season began being taken yesterday (1st Feb). Bookings are almost full already for the first 2 months. If you want to hunt Burrendong this year make your booking ASAP !! Burrendong State Park & Recreation Area Burrendong State Park & Recreation Area became available for hunting in 2011. Hunting is only permitted between 1 May and 20 September each year, and only suitably licensed hunters with permission from the Park Office (details below) are eligible to hunt Burrendong. Located 27km south-east of Wellington, the park is one hour's drive from either Orange or Dubbo, or five hours drive from Sydney. Click here to view a map of the hunting areas The approved hunting area is around 5,000 acres and species found include: fallow deer feral goats feral pigs rabbits foxes hares, and feral cats. Hunting is limited to Firearms and Bows only and hunters access is via a locked gate (key issued with Written Permission). The State Park Office will determine numbers of hunters at any one time.
