A fire broke out in a top floor apartment near Darling Harbor at about 6pm on New Year’s Eve, three hours before the firework extravaganza. The emergence crew, in their full readiness, proved to be quite efficient. Sirens were heard almost immediately after the heavy smoke was spotted on top of a premise near Darling Harbor. The premise, which was mistaken by many as a harborside restaurant, was later found to be a top floor apartment on a nearby street. Fire alarm went off as staff of a few restaurants and bars were evacuated. Photographers were quick in action too as they turned their lens away from the party crowds to aim at the firefighters at work. Their professionalism, however, was soon interrupted by the police, who came shortly afterwards to drive them and other onlookers a block away. Paramedics were also in place in case anyone gets injured. [ 本帖最后由 jasonnewman 于 2007-1-1 20:52 编辑 ] |
