IP Networking Experiences Unix Administration Skills Familar with Cisco Devices System Engineering performs design and network life cycle activities related to the deployment of infrastructure supporting the IP/MPLS network used carry the telco business & wholesale customer traffic. Qualifications Essential: A technical qualification in Telecom Engineering or equivalent experience. Other Vendor related certifications (SUN/HP/EMC/ Infovista/Xacct/Microsoft/etc). Desirable: Other Vendor related certifications(SUN/HP/EMC/Infovista/Xacct/Microsoft/etc) Experience required Essential: Significant demonstrable experience in an systems design role. At least 10 years technical experience in a telecommunications environment. System build and administration experience. Product development and/or customer design experience Experience in liaising with middle and senior management. Desirable: People management or mentoring experience Operational experience in a large scale network environment Technical skills Essential: IP Network reporting solutions egInfovista. Micromuse. MRTG or similar telecom billing systems eg Xacct Solaris Sun hardware. Telecom operations requirements. System design and documentation. Scripting/programming in Perl and/or other languages. Desirable: TCP/IP protocol suite. IP Routing including the following routing protocols: RIP. OSPF. BGP, Firewalls Windows systems SAN technologies Backup solutions System DR principles.
