Position: Technical Lead

Experience: 5 years preferably in Telecom projects

Desirable:Experience in Telecom billing solutions

Technical Lead Role

The Technical Lead function is associated with a project and must be maintained for the duration of the project.?Every solution that is deployed into the environment will have a Technical Lead who is accountable for the end-to-end solution. The Technical Lead must clearly understand their solution, their accountabilities and indeed perform the required functions.?
Any technical decision is made by the Technical Lead to ensure quality of output, in consultation with the Project Manager, to ensure the decisions are within project parameters.

The basic functions of a Technical Lead are:

Requirements Management

Technical Design Ownership & Lifecycle Management for the project

Design Defect Management

Operational Integrity Management

Information Management

Requirements Management
Manage both functional and non-functional technical requirements (gather, create, verify and maintain) and identify key performance indicators
Create and maintain a Requirements / Compliance Matrix which is visible to Customer and Project Management team.
Enforce change control procedures.

Technical Design Ownership & Lifecycle Management for Project
Create end-to-end High Level Design (HLD) for project delivery
Understand and verify vendor products and how they fit into the solution
Assist and review quotes for Work Package
Assist in identifying resource & skill requirements of the project team
Manage? technical issues and information flows in the project group.
Engage, review and verify detail designs
Engage and obtain Architecture Review Board (ARB) approval
Review and verify Build, Implementation and Integration plans
Review and verify test strategy and plans and resolve testing defects
Engage and obtain technical operational handover
Lead & assist transfer of solution to operational / production status
Manage all technical documentation including technical project closure documentation
Handover known solution defects to Technical Sponsors prior to project closure


Design Defect Management

During internal support period:

Monitor for design defects.
Maintain an agenda of design issues and resolve thru Technical Sponsors.

Operational Integrity Management

During internal support period:

Monitor that the solution is being appropriately operated.?
Ensure Operations, Integration and Engineering has adequate training, skills and tools provided within the scope of the project to support the solution.

Information Management

Set up and maintain a project associated directory
