Home loans rise most in 27 months Home loans rise most in 27 months Chris Zappone June 8, 2011 - 11:34AM New home loans rose by 4.8 per cent in April, snapping three consecutive monthly declines, as lower prices lured some buyers back into the market. The gain matched the biggest rise since January 2009, according to Australian Bureau of Statistics figures. Economists had tipped a 2.8 per cent increase for April. The bureau also revised March's decline to 1.1 per cent from an earlier reported 1.5 per cent drop.
