The Melbourne Airport terminal used by Virgin Blue and Regional Express was evacuated after 14 people collapsed from a chemical leak. Two people were taken to hospital and several others treated by ambulance officers after falling ill at the airport. Police said eight people had collapsed at the airport's south terminal after what was feared to be a chemical leak. An ambulance spokeswoman said the first reports of two people unwell at the airport came at 7.30am (AEDT). Since then another six people had collapsed and there were now six ambulance crews at the airport treating them. Police and fire crews were on their way to the airport.
