Australian Wii price drop Posted Today at 11:29 am by Infernal Monkey Nintendo Australia has announced that from tomorrow, the Wii (both black and white models) will be available for $299.95 ($399.95 NZ) - a price drop of $100. This is the system's first official price drop since it launched back in 2006. Of course, retailers have been desperately trying to give away as many (often terrible) Wii games as possible in bundles for the past two years or so to lessen the impact of its relatively high price point. Will EB Games still be including copies of Big Beach Sports and iCarly? That's an important issue! The Wii is currently sitting pretty with 1.7 million units sold across Australia. By comparison, the GameCube only sold six and a half consoles in total. |
