off the top of my head - from quick recollection, or as an approximation; without research or calculation; 好象是。。。差不多是。。。 通常是要提供具体数据和情况的时候，但是可能不太确定自己记得的是不是正确。这时候可以用off the top of my head来开头这样大家都知道这个数据可能不是很精确。 比如说： Manager to Sysadmin: How much disk space do we have left on the file server? Sysadmin: Off the top of my head, we have about 200GB spare. 和off the top of my head差不多意思的还有：last time I checked.上次我看的时候是。。。言下之意就是：不太确定现在怎么样了，可能已经有变化了。 |
