Overview: The Migration and Visa Policy Division is responsible for setting the direction for Australia’s migration strategies and key entry programs for the medium to long term. The Assistant Secretary, Special Labour Market Initiatives Branch, within the Migration and Visa Policy Division, will be responsible for leading and managing the Branch responsible for designing and implementing special labour market projects and pilots related to employment of overseas workers in industries and regions that are not able to source workers from within Australia Specific Duties: The key roles will include: 1. Manage the effective and efficient delivery of special labour market initiatives. 2. Lead Branch staff in developing and implementing special labour market initiatives 3. Develop strategies which meet the needs of the Australian labour market, prevent exploitation of overseas workers and adequately protect Australian workplace standards and conditions.
