Dear all
As you all know the earthquake that happened in China on 12 May 2008.The 7.9 magnitude tremor, which was focused in China's Sichuan Province, is estimated to have killed at least 12,000 people — and that toll is expected to rise dramatically as rescue teams reach the most affected areas.
Jason and I would like to ask all the people to help a little bit for our Chinese victims. China Embassy has opened a donation account in Bank of China. If anybody would like to help these people even a few dollars, we will appreciate your help.
If you would like to make a donation please go to see Ying or Jason  and we will gather all the money and deposit at Bank of China Parramatta branch. Either you can go to the branch and ask the teller for the donation.

Thanks for all your help and all Chinese will remember the day and the help.

我把你的信改了一下，今天也给我同事们发了。不过，我留的澳洲红十字会的捐助方式。信的内容如下：

As you all may have known that the 7.9 magnitude tremor earthquake took place in Sichuan province (my home town, thanks God, my family are safe), south west of China on 12 May 2008 has killed at least 15,000, wounded 70,000 and buried 25000 people (the latest confirmed data from Chinese government), that toll is expected to rise dramatically as rescue teams reach the affected areas.


I was absolutely shocked when I was reading the news and seeing the images on the internet, many towns have been wiped off, houses became debris, hospitals and schools collapsed, patients and students are buried in the ruins. A hand sticks out in the air from the concrete debris, wanting to get help.
