Position:  Senior Manager / Manager, Process Engineering – Fluid Dynamics Engineering (CFD)
Location: Pudong, Shanghai
Reporting to: Senior Regional Manager, Process Engineering Asia Pacific
People Management Responsibility: Yes

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
1.        Build up regional Fluid Dynamics Engineering competence and lead the newly formed team of researchers
2.        Carry out research and development projects with focus on methods for the numerical computation of multiphase flows.
3.        Apply Fluid Dynamics Engineering competence to plant, investment and innovation projects
4.        Lead technology exchange with peers in the headquarters.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.        Recruiting and training of highly qualified staff
2.        Leadership of research team including performance management, resource management, quality management according to global BASF standards, know-how management and professional coaching
3.        Build up internal customer relations, propose new product and process innovation projects, responsibility for project acquisition for the team
4.        Self-dependent execution of complex projects implying interaction with diverse stakeholders/customers
5.        Actively drive forward possibilities of optimization in projects as well as in own work environment
6.        Build up external network with relevant universities and research institutes; regional responsibility for technology scouting in the field of Fluid Dynamics Engineering
7.        Ensure management and exchange of know-how and push actively the development of Fluid Dynamics Engineering in BASF: Propose R&D projects to drive the implementation of new methods and technologies.

RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.        Ph.D. in Process or Chemical Engineering/Technology specialized in the area of Fluid Dynamic Engineering (CFD) with above average scores.
2.        At least 5 years working experience. International exposure is a must.
3.        Experienced with commercial modeling tools such as Fluent or StarCCM+.
4.        Hands on experience with the application of CFD methods in Chemical Engineering problems, expertise with highly viscous fluids will be an asset.
5.        Excellent communication skills, fluent in English
6.        Good leadership capability, drive and willingness to take responsibility
7.        Demonstrate a high level of creativity and personal initiative, work well in global teams.
