2230 GMT [Dow Jones] RBA raised its target for the overnight cash rate to an 11-year high of 6.75% from 6.50%, citing inflationary risks. Hike is 10th since May 2002, and the first ever in an election campaign. Economists expect a further hike, possibly in December. Likely to rock reelection hopes of center-right government ahead of Nov. 24 election. (JEG)

有民意调查说大部分的选民都认为升息不是H的错，H当初竞选的时候进行承诺，也并不是欺骗选民。这些人里有支持Li党的，也有一部分是支持La党的。所以，嘿嘿。。。。。。

2322 GMT [Dow Jones] Though RBA "shying away" from giving much of view about 2008, central bank seems to think global economy will remain healthy, commodity prices will support growth, suggesting it'll need more than one more hike to tame inflation pressures; "the more news we get, the more likely it is (the RBA) will have to go more than once and get the cash rate above 7%" in 2008, Macquarie Bank economist Brian Redican says. No sign in today's statement RBA will go back-to-back with another interest rate hike next month. Still, there are "quite a few building blocks" for 4Q GDP due in coming weeks including employment data Thursday, which, if they print higher-than-expected, could trigger December hike. (RAP)
