Information Sheet - Overseas qualifications
Where a qualification is listed as an essential requirement in the selection criteria for a position, applicants with overseas qualifications must provide certified translations and a statement showing the Australian equivalence for all qualifications that they hold. These documents must be forwarded with the application for the position otherwise the applicant will be ineligible to be considered for the role. The cost of providing these documents is to be borne by the applicant.
The original, or a certified copy, of the documents should be provided to the selection panel at the time of interview.
Certified Translations
Applicants are responsible for obtaining certified translations of documents to substantiate their claims of educational qualifications obtained overseas. Authorised translations of documents can be obtained from:
􀂃 Language Services division of the community Relations Commission, Phone 1300 651 500; or
􀂃 a Migrant Resource Centre of the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs; or
􀂃 private accredited translators.
Australian Equivalence of Qualifications
A statement showing the Australian equivalence of overseas qualifications may be obtained from:

Alternatively, Engineers Australia will assess the Australian equivalence of engineering qualifications gained overseas.
