好消息是，10月开始可以在12个国家公园狩猎了，将在the National Parks and Wildlife Service的指导下进行试点。

However hunting will begin in 12 of the state's national parks in October under the direction of the National Parks and Wildlife Service as a trial, environment minister Robyn Parker told reporters.

It would be subject to strict controls, she said.

The Game Council was to have been responsible for rolling out the controversial plan to allow hunters into national parks.

Plans to allow amateur hunters in 77 national parks and reserves to kill feral animals had been shelved pending the review by public servant Steve Dunn, which came after a series of allegations involving senior members of the council.

They involved allegations of illegal hunting, trespassing and the inhumane killing of a feral goat by the Game Council's acting chief executive Greg McFarland.

Ms Hodgkinson said the Dunn report found the game council had an "inherent conflict associated with its functions to both represent the interests of hunters, and to regulate their activities".

NSW GOVERNMENT RESPONSE TO THE DUNN REPORT
Minister for Primary Industries and Small Business Katrina Hodgkinson today announced
the NSW Government will adopt the key recommendations of the Governance Review of
the Game Council of NSW report by Mr Steve Dunn.
Ms Hodgkinson said the NSW Government will implement a broad range of reforms to
ensure the effective management of game and pest animals whilst also restoring public
confidence and the legitimacy of hunting as a recreational activity.
The NSW Government will implement the key Report recommendations which are to:
 disband the Game Council Division;
 transfer the regulatory, enforcement, education, policy and licencing functions into
the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI); and
 establish an advisory Game Board that will undertake stakeholder engagement and
representation, advocate hunting, advise on research priorities and commissioning
research, and provide independent advice to government.
“The Director General of NSW Trade & Investment, Mr Mark Paterson, will become the
Division Head of the Game Council Division in the interim to oversee the integration of
functions into DPI,” Ms Hodgkinson said.
“The NSW Government will immediately suspend hunting in all 400 State Forests and 2
Crown Lands areas, pending the transfer of functions and the outcome of a risk
assessment.
“The Report found the Game Council had an ‘inherent conflict associated with its functions
to both represent the interests of hunters, and to regulate their activities’.
“Game Bird Management regulatory functions will continue to be undertaken by the Office
of Environment and Heritage in 2013 and transferring to DPI in 2014.
“The governance arrangements of the Game Council are a product of the former Labor
Government - another Ian Macdonald, Tony Kelly and Steve Whan legacy.
“The reforms announced today by the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government provide the
opportunity for our primary producers, conservationists and volunteers to work in a
coordinated manner across all land tenures to manage this costly and environmentally
destructive problem.
“The overall direct economic impact of the pest animals has been conservatively estimated
at $740 million annually.2 of 2
“Pest animals threaten 40% of fragile biodiversity in NSW. There are 388 threatened
species at risk, including 154 plants, 186 animals, 17 endangered populations and 31
endangered ecological communities. It is impossible to place a value on this cost to the
environment.
“Pest animals do not respect boundaries. For the first time, the NSW Government will be
able to attack this problem by working with one set of regulations across all lands,
irrespective of whether they are National Parks, State Forests, Crown Lands or private
property.
“We are taking a similar ‘tenure-blind’ approach to the way bushfires are managed - better
coordination of government agencies and the use of all available resources, including
volunteers and professional pest management service providers,” Ms Hodgkinson said.

We'll have a full response soon, but in the meantime, keep your R-licences because they will still be equally useful in the near future. The laws have not changed; it's just hunting of public land that has been put on hold. Hunting deer on private land is still find under the same regulations as before.

本来300多个 森林，现在只有12个了 要去那里打猎还得参加专门的训练。

钱都不是问题，如果取消了，肯定可以退款的。否则告他丫的。

看来以后都是走QLD的路线了，要培训。 也确实太多菜鸟不培训就去乱开枪，太危险了。  这里的朋友还算运气好有版主指导， 很多人都是买了枪就去森林见什么杀什么。

说是10月会开放12个自然公园给狩猎用，但是起码从现在起那400个国家森林是不让玩了。发生了昨天的事情以后在回顾过去几个月的一些迹象，其实一切都是内部定好了的，没有对外公布而已。Game Council在玛丽家二楼的办公室关闭，我同事去Putty那边骑马的时候听农场主说SF很快就不能打猎了（我当时也不信），再加上最近几起非法盗猎的事件.................。

感觉是Game Council的管理力度受到政府的质疑，所以现在干脆马上喊停，废除Game Council，重新修法并将管理权交给Department of Primary Industries。就算10月能从新开放森林和公园给狩猎用的话，条件估计将会苛刻很多而且将会加大管理力度，比如说增加ranger和警力检查。而且开始的时候肯定会抓一批人祭旗对外界起警吓的作用，真的有心在骨头在里面挑刺的话多少都能找到点东西。

还是那句话，今年大选一定要投猎党一票。

Scrapping the NSW Game Council was an act of political bastardry. It was also inevitable. And it may end up being good.
The one positive thing NSW hunters can retain is that the government appears to have committed to a continuation of recreational hunting on public land, but not for a little while.
I’m not talking about national parks, either, because that’s turned out to be a dud deal. We’ll come back to that in a minute.
When the Game Council was established, it was the best thing NSW hunters had had since a time most shooters can’t remember, because there’d be nowhere to hunt unless you had access to private property.
The Game Council opened up vast tracts of land, and all you had to do was get licensed and then book in to a forest for the days you wanted to hunt. Victorians shook their heads, but then they live in a more enlightened state; many others Aussie were envious.
Could NSW possibly get a more Victorian-style system? We can only hope, but it's not likely. Yet even if we end up with a less controversial body – or bodies – running the same system as before, we’ll be better off. Looking at the government response to Dunn's report, it appears we'll get a streamlined, more secure licensing set-up with more widespread access to licensing outlets, and better managed feral control programs.
Most of all, taking the politics out of it will certainly help our public image, though you can guarantee the Greens will continue their whining because they have stated they want recreational hunting banned.
And that means the politics that surrounds hunting will not go away. We are heavily under siege here – the animal libbers and Greens hate us, the police want us disarmed, and the major parties still believe there are votes to be gained by "getting tough" on guns, regardless of who the criminals are.
This is why it’s vital we rally and fight on. The major parties are losing votes because of the way we’ve been treated, and Barry O’Farrell is the leader who’s feeling it most. The Shooters and Fishers Party in NSW has made huge inroads for hunters and shooters, to such a degree that instead of complaining that we’ve got nowhere to hunt we’re complaining about the management of our sport being transferred to new government departments. The S&F has brought us a long way.
The S&F is meeting with O’Farrell over the current mess and demanding a say in what happens next, but everyone with a NSW R- and G-licence can be part of that simply by keeping their licence and letting their local MP know they want to use it. And, of course, that they paid for it.
The longer the government dicks around working out what to do, the longer they have no income from new or renewed licences, and they’re worth about $1.5 million a year.
We have to let them know we want to hunt, and if we don’t get that message across we can’t complain if we end up with all NSW public-land hunting going the way of the newly announced program for national parks: a highly restrictive system that’s only focussed on culling.
Don’t get me wrong, I reckon those programs are great and I want to get involved, too. But it’s not hunting in its purest sense, it’s not being alone in the bush to do your own thing, it’s not recreational hunting.
Hunters may end up better off after all this settles down, but we could end up much worse off and the national parks model tells us how. So keep you hunting licence, let you local MP know you want to use it and once this is over encourage more of your friends to get their own licence.
There's strength (and votes) in numbers.
