Position: Support Engineer
Location: Sydney
Salary: $75K - 80K + Super + Bonus
Term: Permanent

An industry leader in global technology for interactive and digital television is currently looking for a Senior Support Engineer with Digital/TV Support experience.
With 120 leading service providers worldwide my client is a leader in delivering secure, end to end digital media technologies.

The Support Engineering will support the application and infrastructure deployment of my clients customers in Australia and New Zealand. The person will become an expert in the systems deployed and will be the primary contact for resolving issues with these systems. The person will report to the Engineering Manager

Job Responsibilities:
IT Support Responsibilities
§  Frontline IT liaison for all local staff, dealing with enquiries, issues and user requests, to a high standard and in a timely fashion.
§  Managing the internal lab environment and providing support to other business services.
§  Identifying and working with appropriate internal and external support parties where required.
§  Managing basic IT equipment for new starters & procurement of IT for the business.

Customer Support Responsibilities
§  Handling customer requests for support and managing these to resolution including:
    Application and data troubleshooting.
    Escalating issues as needed to engineering or management.
    Keeping detailed records of the issue, the actions taken and its resolution.
§  Reporting on the status of open and ongoing issues both internally and externally.
§  Participate in a team environment for case discussions and resolutions.
§  Be aware of all high profile issues at a working level.
§  As requested be available to travel on site to aide in the implementation process.   
§  Maintain documentation regarding deployed versions of components and their configuration.


Skills & Qualifications:
§  Bachelors or Technical degree.
§  Experience of technical support of an office environment.
§  A thorough knowledge of operating systems, networking, hardware, software and virtualized environments.
§  Exposure to administering Linux based systems is desirable as is building and deploying virtual machines.
§  Must have excellent oral, written communication skill as well as good presentation skills. Experience in managing ongoing customer relationships is desirable.
§  Exposure to complex database driven web applications is desirable.
§  Experience in the operations of, or support of products for, local Satellite or Cable or broadcast operations is preferred.
§  Must be very self motivated.
