A pre-existing condition is defined as-
· A pre-existing condition is any ailment, illness, or condition that you had signs or symptoms of during the six months before you joined. It is not necessary that you or your doctor knew what your condition was or that the condition had been diagnosed
· A condition can still be classed as pre-existing even if you haven’t visited your doctor about it before joining
· A doctor appointed by Bupa decides whether your condition is pre-existing, not you or your doctor. The appointed doctor must consider your treating doctors’ opinions on the signs and symptoms of your ailment, but is not bound to agree with them
Overseas visitors insurance is not so that your parents can come to Australia for medical treatment, it is for unforseen illness or accidents. Any new conditions will be covered from their start date.
