The basic requirements are listed below. You may wish to add other items.

Large sums of money and valuables create security problems. Please do not bring valuable items such as jewellery into the hospital with you . You will not need large amounts of cash, although you will want to have a small amount of change on hand if you wish to make purchases at the Kiosk or use hthe public telephone. Phone cards can be purchased at Patients Office in the hospital.

FOR YOURSELF

• Antenatal card
• Night wear
• Three cotton nursing bras (wide strapped cotton bras are preferable to nylon as they are more comfortable), or crop tops.
• Breast pads
• Dresssing gown and slipers
• Sanitary napkins (preferable three packets)
• Pants (disposable or old ones are a good idea)
• Toiletries -soap, toothbursh, etc.
• Tissues
• Day and outdoor clothes
• Pen and writing paper
• Glucose lollies to suck on during labour if desired
  

Remember that the hospital is air-conditioned, so summer weight clothing is suitable all year round. Warmer clothes will be required if you wish to go outside for walks

FOR BABY

During your stay in hospital, baby clothing and nappies will be provided. You will be required to bring in lotion or soap for bathing. formula of your choice if bottle feeding. You will only need to bring a complete set of clothes for baby to travel home in, such as:

• nightie/Jumpsuit
• bunnyrugs(2)
• napppies(2) and nappy pins or snappy napppies(2)
• singlet
• bonnet and booties
