Position description
This project involves some major enhancements to an existing .NET(C#) ASP application. In addition to building new functionality, a significant part of the project will involve rewriting the backend database (Oracle) packages to improve performance.
Role: Contract, initially 3 months, likely to be 6 months.
Rquirements
- 5 years plus experience in IT in medium to large organisations, mature and independent thinker.
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- Visual studio .NET
- Web development
- C#
- SQL, Oracle PL/SQL
Further Development of enhancements on a application to track Trucking and Delivery to the Woolworths Warehouses, to track Issues and for reporting needs.
The first part of the project involves producing a set of online screens which will form the basis of the detailed design. This will require liaising with the business, understanding the current system, understanding the business requirements, challenging these requirements and then proposing a system and selling this to the business. The second part of the project involves the coding, testing and implementation of the system.
The system has a .net ASP front end and an Oracle Backend, the current application has performance issues at the backend and needs a contractor with experience in Tuning the Oracle Backend and expertise with Oracle PL/SQL server development
