It is related to module 4 regarding to new product/market development.
I cannot identify any issues in module 2. Why you think it is related to module 2??

I agree, it's only related to Module 3 & 4.

agree with valerie3922, wrote some staff on the 5Qs, BSC, not sure about strategic capacities, will try
But for external environment, not enough info except a little bit on defining industry and product segment. Tried to relate to TEMPLES and porter's 5 force and cannnot find the info needed, and as said in the exam guidelines, all the required info is provided in the case itself, so i guess questions on exernal environment can be skiped.
Trying to relate to product-market matrix, any ideas guys?

yes, i think we have to exclude M2.
Do you guys think we can apply to SWOT analysis? but i can only find S&O, but can't find W&T..

For M4, i can think of:
1.) Ansoff's product-market matrix classifications
2.) Whats is needed to be successful in new markets? (4.32)

M3
1.) Company corporate strategy
2.) 5Qs of Business Strategy (pg 3.12)
3.)  Balance Scorecard approach
4.) Organisation capabilities based on SWOT analysis??
5.) Company strategic capabilities based on Key Success Factors (pg 3.45)??

any others..?

I think it is very hard to analyse this case with SWOT, SWOT combine industry environment with organisational performance. With case1, there is very little info about the industry. SWOt is used to identify options,it is not related here. What do you guys think.

agree with your point.  I don't think SWOT needs to be discussed here as there is limited info about the industry!

Agree.. More in M3 and M4
strongly think Ansoff's product - market will be tested.. the 3 news extract are all related..

maybe BSC or key factor / capabilities for successful strategy? - Director report?

HI Christy, do you think the entrer into BP pertrol station and convenience stores, also the enter into sports stadium should be consider as new market??? Personally.. I think they are all new distribution channels. what do you think?

they are just new channels, not new markets. PFL still focus on austrlia and use product development (option 1) to gain more new customers in australia

I haven't read much about this case yet.
But in my mind, new distribution channel is new customer segment, which is new market.
New market includes geographic markent and customer market.
Is that new distibution channel not new customer market???

Hi guys,

I have one question about the creative gourmet targets " smoothie" market.

should that be counted as new product to new market ( Diversification) or just  product development?

I was thinking it's just a new product development at the start, but just read the article agian where the title emphasied on targets " Smoothie" market..... so I am thinking it should be a new market as well now.

Please let me know your thoughts~~ thanks ^  ^

1. 5Qs questions especially about Q1,4 and 5. Heaps of evidence can be found in the director's report?
2.  'News items' part are talking about M4 concepts.
a.)contract with BP is about the "Differentiation" strategy?
b.)'Smoothie C' is about new product and product development
c.)'Four'n 20 rules' is about Market development, focusing on new distribution channel and market segment?
