Super funds chase extraordinary returns

High returns and low volatility is a feasible investment outcome according to Access Economics, which advises super funds such as MTAA and Westscheme. Investment returns in managed funds such as superannuation of 12 per cent - or four times the rate of inflation - should be possible, Access says. Some of its funds have a 10-year average return of 15 per cent. Sceptics say investors are getting complacent.
