The CBFCA has received advice that Patrick and DP World Port Botany terminal operations ceased overnight due to extreme weather conditions with high winds reported to have been up to 100 km per hour. Closures have also been announced at Maritime Container Services (MCS) Cooks River, P&O Trans Australia (POTA) and CargoLink.
Container receipt and delivery recovery is likely to be slow during the course of the day as the weather conditions ease and facilities re-open. Sydney traffic will undoubtedly also be adversely affected by the weather causing difficulties in maintaining transport schedules. Morning radio has reported traffic disruptions at Bankstown, Carlingford, Mascot, Tempe and Penshurst. |
