merit list 是什莫意思？？？

6月份面试了一份工作，使自己很喜欢的工作，今天终于知道结果失败了。 但是邮件上说我已经被放在merit list上了， 而且12个月内都会在List上，保持联系。 请问有人知道 这是什么意思吗？ 我还有希望马？谢谢大家

I would assume that u had an aps job interview.

An order of merit is a comparative ranking of candidates from most suitable to least suitbale, based on merit assessment of their claims for an advertised ongoing or non-ongoing job. Candidates r rated in order of theirsuitability to perform the duties of the job. The primary purpose of establish this list is to provide the flexibility to offer subsequent and similar employment without having to readvertise the vacancy.

From my past experience, when ur told that ur in the merit list, ur rejected 99.99pc, unless the 5 or 10 ppl before u all decided to reject the job, which is highly unlikely.

谢谢楼上的回复。 那是不是每个CANDIDATE都会在这个LIST上啊？ 就是一个排名表吧。 那为什么邮件好像说的像恭喜我上了list啊？？ 不是只要shortlist了的人都在list上吗。弄得我好像还抱有一线希望， 不知道这个时候写个感谢信 还有用马？这份工作是我非常喜欢的工作， 为了这份工作我牺牲了好多别的机会，非常不甘心就这末放弃了。。。。。

once the list is finalised, there wouldnt be any change made to the order of the candidates, therefore i'd say its futile to write a follow -up email. but u could give it another shot, since it doesnt hurt.

i remembered in one occassion, i was ranked no 6 in the merit list, and they decided to keep the top 5, from that time and on, i was never informed for any further details.

what u might do at this stage, is to write an email, ask them politely for some interview feedback to enhance future interview skills, and as well as ask 4ur own ranking in the order list and the no of vacancies available. if ur rank if close to the no of vancancies, u might have a slight chance of make it in.
