但是疫苗尚未在澳洲注册使用，Prof Middelberg希望临床实验快点通过。
NEW technology has been used to develop the first Australian batch of a new vaccine against the H1N1 swine flu virus.
University of Queensland researchers developed the vaccine just two weeks after receiving the genetic construct from the United States.

Professor Anton Middelberg, from UQ's Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology in Brisbane, said the vaccine matched the virus found in the first US case of swine flu, a 10-year-old boy in San Diego.

Prof Middelberg said the new technology, from US firm Protein Sciences Corporation, was able to produce vaccines more quickly than conventional methods based on eggs.

"We only received the genetic construct from PSC two weeks ago and we have been able to produce the vaccine already, which is an amazing achievement," Prof Middelberg said.

The vaccine was not yet registered for use in Australia, but Prof Middelberg hoped that clinical trials could be fast-tracked.

还早呢, 药品应该进入N个月的动物实验阶段, 统计有效后, 进入N个月至N年的人体临床实验阶段, 最后统计数字出来后, 才可能出成品, 到了那个时候, 病毒也估计变异成H1N4 N5 了.

再加上澳洲大幅缩减健康经费,...我看疫苗着事情得等... 澳洲不像中国, 一呼百应.

别瞎说，你讲的是新药的研发流程，疫苗不一样，除了对抗的病毒不一样，其实疫苗制作的流程和每年生产流感疫苗的一样，技术已经十分的成熟，基本没有问题。并且克服了以往工艺会过敏的问题，采用哺乳动物的细胞合成疫苗，不需要动物试验和I,II期临床试验，直接进入三期临床试验,周期要短的多。这次是澳大利亚自己的一家公司比美国做的都快，已经在招募自愿者了，先成人后孩子，大概半年的时间
Today CSL has called for volunteers for its clinical trial into its swine flu vaccine. We are looking for adults aged between 18 and 64 who are in good health and who are able to attend four appointments in Adelaide over a six month period. (And how many people are you looking for?)Two-hundred-and-forty healthy adult volunteers at this stage and later we'll be moving into a trial of the vaccine in children, which will be announced in a couple of weeks.
