更新:不在政府的product recall网站上。是Car Advice的报道
Toyota Australia has issued a recall for hybrid versions of the Camry, Corolla, Prius and RAV4 produced between April 2019 and May 2019.
"In the subject vehicles, there is a possibility components of the electronic brake booster pump assembly may have been manufactured improperly," the company says.
"In some cases, the brake booster pump may stop operating. If this occurs, multiple warning lights and messages could illuminate on the instrument panel and audible chimes could sound."
"After several brake pedal applications, power brake assist could be lost completely. A loss of power brake assist while driving could increase the vehicle stopping distance and may increase the risk of an accident," Toyota adds.
There are 'approximately' 183 vehicles in the hands of customers affected across the four model lines in Australia, with no reported incidents or injuries caused by this condition.
Owners will be contacted by Toyota dealers by phone, and requested to make an appointment at their preferred dealer to have their vehicle inspected, with the brake booster replaced if necessary.
The fix is estimated to take four to seven hours depending on model.
A Toyota Australia spokesperson has confirmed with CarAdvice the 'temporary sales stop' put on hybrid versions of the Camry, Corolla, Prius and RAV4, along with the Lexus ES and UX for the same issue has now concluded.
"Toyota Australia was recently instructed to put a sales stop on 2169 vehicles, as a precautionary measure to understand consistency of manufacturing amongst those vehicles. The majority of vehicles inspected were found to be consistent with Toyota’s manufacturing standards and have since been released," the spokesperson said.
"This investigation was conducted to reduce any inconvenience to our customers and was a necessary activity to determine next steps. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused." |
