if u are resident for tax purpose, the money from uk will be treated as foreign income, and any tax paid to Tax dept of Uk will be treated as foreign tax offset..u will still pay tax on Australian tax rate..
but, if u are non-resident for tax purpose, u will only need to pay tax on Australia source income at non-resident rate(base rate is 29%,no free threshold)
Do remeber,,resident for tax purpose is not same as resident of Austraia, that is, u maybe hold PR, but, not a resident for tax purpose...(eg: u stay in overseas for more than half of this finanial year)
