Title: The Enormous Crocodile
The Enormous Crocodile is an excellent book written by Roald Dahl and illustrated by Quentin Blake. It’s about an enormous crocodile that tries to eat children, but fails every time!
The Enormous Crocodile loves eating children, it’s basically his hobby. He tries to eat them in four clever attempts, in which he calls ‘clever tricks.’ The children are saved by four smart animals: Humpy-Rumpy the hippo, Muggle-Wump the monkey, the Roly-Poly Bird and Trunky the elephant. The Enormous Crocodile goes on exciting adventures, trying to find yummy children to eat! Read this awesome book to find out if the Enormous Crocodile continues his evil ways, or is gotten rid of once and for all.
My opinion is that this book is lovely, with an amazing tale about the Enormous Crocodile who loves to eat children. The animals and the children were very interesting, and the illustrations were absolutely beautiful! My favourite scene was when the Enormous Crocodile was talking to the Notsobig One about delicious children that he would like to eat. I liked this scene because it’s very fun, and it starts off the book. What I disliked about this book is that it’s very short, and Roald Dahl definitely could have made this book longer, to make it more interesting and exciting. It’s also a bit repetitive, how the animals kept saying the same thing, when the Enormous Crocodile was walking through the jungle.
When I saw this book at a book shop, I knew I was looking for it, so my grandma got it for me. This is essential for anyone who likes fables and Roald Dahl books. I would give The Enormous Crocodile a 4.1 out of 5 stars, and recommend it for ages 8-11. |
