Vocational placements for interns seeking experience in project management and construction to be trained and have a view to become a contract administrator or a registered builder.
DST Project Management & Construction
DST Project Management and Construction is a development management, project management and construction company based in Box Hill.
We have grown substantially over the past year. In 2018, we have a total commitment of 14 townhouses to construct, which is lead by a construction manager with an experienced background from working in the likes of Simonds Homes, Boutique Homes, Carlisle Homes, Madisson Projects, QUBE Projects.etc.
The intern positions we have open are available for motivated graduates that either want to become a skilled contract administrator or have a view to become a builder in the near future. Please note that the probation period for these internship positions are unpaid and is only for the purpose of providing work experience.
Working under the construction manager, you will be trained step by step and observe the day to day running of a construction business. Specifically, you will observe and practice the delivery of the following tasks:
• Reviewing construction plans and documentation in preparation for the tendering process
• Liaise with Sub Contractors and Suppliers by drafting invitation to tenders and vetting
• Collate scope of works and specific sub contractor and supplier contracts
• Contract administration of the contracts between the client and the builder and the builder and subcontractor/suppliers
• Attend site for inspections to approve progress payments in accordance with construction documentation and agreements
• Conduct site inductions and upkeep OHS documentation
• Estimate and check the scope and quantities for specific cost centers such as lockup hardware and windows
• Administer the project schedule and call forward subcontractor and suppliers to coordinate site works
• Project coordination of handover items
• Liaise and coordinate applications with utility companies, consultants and government authorities for the purpose of construction works and subdivision of the projects.
At the end of the internship, you would have observed a total of 5 concurrent projects and understand the following areas which will provide you with a gateway to become a contract administrator and trainee builder.
