Powerark Solar is one of the top 5 solar distributors in Australia. Our market covers the entire country and parts of other South East Asian. We are headquartered in Sydney with four other branches across 4 states (WA, VIC, QLD, SA). Our main business to distribute a range of products from Panels to electrical components for our customers in residential and commercial sector.

Roles and responsibilities:

Transactions processing oversight:

• Oversight in maintaining day to day general ledger ensuring a high level of completeness and accuracy.
• Provides the necessary checks and controls on all transactions (sales, purchase, journal entries etc).
• Ensuring monthly GL closing is executed including posting of all journal entries (cut off, depreciation, amortization, insurance charge, expenses accruals etc.)
• Oversight of accounts payable area ensuring all purchases are timely recorded with proper underlying supporting documents and verification. Reviewing monthly supplier reconciliations.
• Verification of monthly BAS submission prepared by tax accountant.
• Reviewing overseas contracts and checking clearance documents.
• Analysis of GL balances and transactions especially overaged GL balances.
  

Treasury:

• Managing company bank accounts and credit facilities including credit cards.
• Cash flow forecasting based on sales and purchases and helping Financial Controller in treasury functions.
• Initiation of all local payments including employee reimbursements in the banking portal.
• Collaboration with forex companies for overseas import payments including management of hedging instruments.
  

Reporting and audit:

• Preparation of monthly management financial results, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Leading external statutory financial audits and internal audits from company side.
  

Corporate Governance:

• Involvement in the development of the corporate governance framework, internal control monitoring and ensuring compliance with relevant company requirements.
• Helping in preparation of Company accounting policies and compliance manual.
• Highlighting areas for system and process improvements.
  

Requirements for this role:

• Bachelor degree in accounting or finance from a reputable local or overseas institution.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role in a medium sized commercial business having annual turnover of over AUD 50 million.
• Experience of handling foreign exchange instruments (options, forward contracts etc)
• Attention to detail and able to learn new things quickly.
• Good working knowledge of accounting systems especially Net Suite.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese.
