We are an established growing FMCG Company specialising in the importing and distribution of Asian food products to Australian market. An opportunity exists for an experienced Purchasing Officer to work in a fast paced environment.
This position will manage the end-to-end process from raising purchase orders and LC's to clearance of goods, tracking of vessels; chasing documentation as well as to receipting and costing of goods. The position also responsible for managing relationship with suppliers, customs agents, freight forwarders, AQIS to ensure compliance and the entire purchasing process runs smoothly.
Main responsibilities include:
Assist Purchasing Manager with product purchasing, demand planning, forecasting and shipment schedules
Sales analysis and Inventory control to avoid 'out of stock'
Responsible for stock movement analysis, reporting and purchase order quantity recommendations by liaising with the sales team
Liaise with Sales and Vendors to determine order lead times and order quantities before generating P.O.'s to ensure optimum quantity is ordered
Generate purchase orders, delivery instructions, goods receipting in the system and cost calculations
Maintain records of goods ordered and receipted for HACCP purposes, product costs (using excel) and supplier informationParticipate in WMS project implementation to set business requirements for procurement
Liaise with all relevant parties in relation to import and export arrangement
Administrative support duties for the department including filing, updating customs records, preparing correspondence and inputting and retrieving information from computer database and other duties as required
To be a successful candidate, you need to have at least 2 years experience as a purchasing officer and demonstrates your ability to accurately forecast requirement and optimize inventory. Food industry experience will be highly regarded.

Proficient use of the MS Office suite especially MS Excel
Effective problem solving skills
Strong verbal, written English and Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin)
Microsoft Dynamics experience highly preferred but not essential
