报了，不过我并不特别看好他。
1.顾名思义人家招得是天才，我家只是稍微勤奋些而已。
2.年龄上没有优势，他们同年级的孩子有比他大一岁多的，孩子的理解能力/分析能力可不能差一年的功夫。
但是有这样的机会还是要去试水的，看看自己和别人的差距，要不然在学校里老是认为自己可以横着走了，其实只是井底之蛙而已。

We were invited to attend the school tour in Mid Nov and we plan to go there and have a further look of the school.
After I get a final result. I am happy to share our experience for how we prepared and how's the testing like. And maybe a bit of my personal surmise of how they pick up the G&T kids.

Although there might only be 1% chance to get an offer. This was a really good chance to practise and compete with all the High level players.

其实我消息不是很灵通的，小A所在的班级有3个小朋友去考试了，全校估计10+名。预估周边10几所学校的话至少100+名小朋友，再加上比较远的地方的申请，感觉120名不止。

对于SG的考试，参加人数略少些，入取名额略多些。而且只是男生，所以无法横向比较。

暂时没听说报名了不让考试的孩子。

为啥说只１％的CHANCE， 我觉得上了RESERVE应该机会很高了呀。

信息不太透明，有几个reserve的名额不知道，reserve的顺序也不知道，不像OC会告诉你是第几位（包括一直有更新录取到第几位）。关于这个我会在参观学校的时候看一下，也会适时地和招生的人聊聊，看看能不能了解更多的信息（比如一共有多少考生报名，有多少参加考试，有多少在reserve list上，录取的孩子的族裔等等）——所以说要等尘埃落定了以后再来发帖谈经验比较全面。
其次招收外区的学生名额只有15个，估计考取的学生放弃的概率不大，最多有一两个多余的名额。所以最后能进的可能性差不多就是1%啦（1%代表小概率事件）

主要区别是这个考试的成绩是不公开的，该学校只录取15名小朋友，而且是2考3（OC是4考5）

小朋友两年级的时候就可以去报名，一般每年7，8月份接受报名，10月份考试。

这个班的小朋友都不是一般地聪明，学的东西不一样，不是死读书的那种。

新州一千多所小学，这个也是前20%的学校啦
你提到的grammar school是澳洲最著名的私校Sydney Grammar，小学一直排第一，中学部也是前十的

Hi nevermurnur, we will let young tiger to try all different kinds of assessments/tests. It's not only for figuring out where he stands, but also for preparing his skills/mind for future important exams. This is not conflict with our decision to choose a well known private school. We plan to enroll him in year5 eirther kings or knox. By the way, would you mind that I answer you in Chinese? My Chinese is far better than English. In that case my explanation could be more derailed and after all this is a Chinese forum.
