Ingredients
Pork leg steaks
Oyster sauce
Light soy
Pepper
Minced garlic
Cornflour
Egg (beaten)
Plain flour
Panko breadcrumbs
Cooking oil
Methods
Place pork steaks between 2 sheets plastic wrap. Using a meat mallet, beat pork steaks until flattened.
Marinate the flattened pork steaks with oyster sauce, light soy, pepper, minced garlic and cornflour for 1-2 hours.
In 3 separate shallow bowls, place flour, egg and breadcrumbs. Coat pork steaks in flour, then dip in beaten egg letting excess egg drip back into the bowl before breading in panko breadcrumbs. Repeat with remaining pork steaks.
Once all pork steaks are breaded, heat a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan. Once oil is hot, add breaded pork steaks and fry 3-4 minutes per side or until cooked through and golden brown on both sides. Reduce heat if the pork steaks are browning too quickly. Remove to a paper towel lined plate. Serve with salad, mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.
