Position

Reporting to the Marine Services Coordinator, within the Marine Services team your duties will include:

Days only roster, will be required to work additional hours on shift for leave coverage;
Part time Opportunity for a Residential Based Role in Port Hedland
Understand the significant HSE risks for which you have principal responsibility and ensure controls are implemented;
Field leadership;
Product Delivery;
Accurate and timely development of the towage schedule required to meet the PPA shipping schedule in line with the vessel movement protocols and port user guidelines;
Confirm receipt of shipping confirmation from the vessel agent prior to the vessel requiring towage services;
Accurate data entry of all information into the nominated system;
Ensure towage invoices are issued to the nominated party by end of each shift for all vessels that have departed the Port, or as required;
Monitor towage fleet location and ensure the schedule is maintained utilising tools such as, but not limited to. AIS and VHF radio;
Liaising with the Pilbara Port Authority representative in continuous improvement activities for more efficient vessel movements through better Port utilisation;
Provide assistance as required during emergency situations and cyclone;
Contribute to projects as required to improve the towage scheduling function;
Management of schedule for towage operators to utilise the common service berth and fuelling facilities;
Understand requirements of BHPBTS towage licence;
Identify inefficiencies and work to remove such inefficiencies with the support of your Line Manager.
Skills and Experience

As the successful candidate you will possess the following:

Minimum successful completion of Secondary Education to Year 12;
Ability to work as part of a team;
Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations;
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines;
High level computer skills;
Attention to detail;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Influencing and negotiation skills for outcomes;
Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills;
Experience in Maritime or Logistics industry desirable;
Planning and scheduling desirable experience;
Minimum of C class manual drivers licence.
Port Hedland

In this Part Time residential role you will be based in the coastal town of Port Hedland, Western Australia. Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia. The 15,000-strong population enjoys well-established education services, entertainment, shopping and medical facilities.

The excellent sporting and leisure facilities include; a new aquatic centre, sports stadium and water play park. Its beaches and mangroves are home to an abundance of fish and other wildlife. Within driving distance are the spectacular Broome, Karratha and Karijini national Park. As this is a residential position you will also be provided with subsidised rental accommodation in addition to power and water subsidies.
