Short-selling ban extended
The corporate regulator has extended its ban on covered short selling until the middle of November.
The Australian Security and Investments Commission imposed the ban last month in response to similar actions by governments around the world.
A ban on the short selling of financial stocks will continue until the end of January.
Covered short selling is when traders have share lending arrangements in place and sell a stock they have borrowed in the hope of buying it back at a cheaper price.
