Bomb, spray, bait or mat?The conventional wisdom is that if you have a heavy infestation, a bomb is what you need — they’re the best at getting into cracks and crevices where cockroaches live and breed.
Baits and mats are generally not thought to be as effective as bombs on a large scale, but they can certainly prevent a small infestation from escalating.
Sprays aren’t very practical for tackling a large infestation either, but can give a wider coverage than baits.
However, baits have the advantage of the poison being contained in the bait and not left lingering on any surface where crawling babies or pets could lick it.
So if you’ve only seen a few cockies, try a bait, mat or spray. These also make good follow-up choices if you decide you have to use a bomb first.
