请问JANINE:
进入医院当INTERN工作以后,能介绍一下大概的职业发展概况?大概多少年能当GP?大概多少年能考CONSULTANT?中国人当SPECIALIST可能性大吗?
For OTD rural pathway is the only choice which takes 4 years. We are affected by the 10 year moratorium. Under the moratorium, OTDs will only be issued a Medicare provider number if they work in designated outer metropolitan, rural and remote areas of Australia. the geographical limitation on Medicare provider numbers for OTDs is 10 years. This is a piece of stupid government legislation.
For speciality training (e.g. physician, surgeon, paeds, O&G, psych, pathology, anaes...) it depends on which speciality you choose, 5 - 6++. We believe it is still possible for us to be a specialist - my goal - aiming for it.
Intern 1yr + RMO 1yr +/- SRMO 1yr + registrar 5-7 yr - fellow ?yr - finally consultant... such a long way.
No exam for consultant After you pass the final exam of your college, you become a fellow of XX college, such as FRANZCOG (Fellow of royal Australian and New Zealan College of Obs and Gynae). Consultant also called 'boss' is just a position. You are working as a fellow until you find a consultant position.
