这个话题跟回不回国一样,讨论不出所以然的。
我承认,在利率如此高的情况下,买房怎么都不如租房划算。但是我还是要买房,因为在像今天这样一个晴朗的日子里,抱着宝宝看老公在自家的后花园里种兰花,对我来说是莫大的享受。赚钱干吗?存钱干吗?不就是为了享受生活?钱反正不是在这里花掉就是在那里花掉,值得还是不值得完全是仁者见仁,智者见智。
sail这段话真是道出了购房自住的真正意义所在。
作为普通的升斗百姓,偶不懂那么多高深的经济学词汇和理论,只是环顾四周的华人朋友当中,不管是白领新贵坐办公室的,还是贩夫走卒干“累脖”活的,或是辛辛苦苦做生意的,但凡有点可能的,大都攒首期买了自住房,更不用说那些手里还有若干投资房的了,我还真不相信这么多人都是傻子,都算不过帐来。对他们来说,什么opporunity cost,什么股指期货,什么衍生option,什么“大战非农”…似乎都遥不可及了。
特别是还带着年幼的孩子的,更是希望给孩子一个温暖安定的家,有了自己的家的感觉,就一个字“爽”!
前阵子还看到一则新闻,说今年五月份第一次升息之后,霍华德总理的28岁长子在悉尼Pyrmont区买了一套2卧室的unit,价格为$545,000元。霍华德总理和太太Janette用自己位于悉尼北岸Wollstonecraft的房子做抵押,向一间财务公司按揭贷款,帮助自己的儿子成为首次置业人士。
有意思的是,总理长子这次首置的房款,比起总理夫妇1974年购买位于Milner Cres的房产价格高出了10倍,当年霍华德夫妇购买那栋房产仅花了$54,000元。

Howard gives son a hand

PRIME Minister John Howard has helped his son get a foothold in the property market, borrowing against the equity of his Sydney North Shore home to go guarantor for an inner-city pad.
Mr Howard's eldest son, Timothy, 28, paid $545,000 for a two-bedroom unit in the inner suburb of Pyrmont in April.
Mr Howard and his wife, Janette, used collateral for their Wollstonecraft home to borrow the same amount through Perpetual Ltd.
The couple's son-in-law, Rowan McDonald, married to their daughter Melanie, witnessed their signature on one of the mortgage documents.
The transaction was settled on May 22, just weeks after interest rates rose.
The amount he paid for his first home is more than 10 times what his parents paid for their family home.
Mr and Mrs Howard bought their Milner Cres property for $54,000 in 1974.
