这充其量是个经济大国，而非霸权国家，两种意思。如果白领 技术骨干能成为霸权国家，日本早就称霸了

I bet when we retire, there will be little or no welfare at all. This economic model is not sustainable.

Australia is importing labor resource every year. But no matter how many immigrants come, it will still be short of labor force. Because the difference between working and living on welfare is not enough to force people to work.

I personally know some people who live on welfare, they're living in bigger houses than I'm living in, they're driving better cars than I'm driving. Because they need to spend all the money they're paid by centralink, to be qualified to recieve the money next month. They're not rich, but they pay little fare for public transportation, they enjoy a lot of discount in pharmarcy and electricity bills. They don't want to work at all.

The politicians don't want to lose the vote from those people, so they turn to the world labor market. But this will delay the problem and make it even bigger in the long term.

Australia now has 6 working people supporting 1 retired people, so they can enjoy a rich and dignit retired life. By the time when we retire, this ratio may be 1/3 or 1/2. Age care alone will consume significant social resources.

If you have read the articles about age care, you know how hard a work it is. How can you persuade the young people to give up their comfortable life, and work hard to become a nurse? By that time, Australia can no longer import more workers, or sell more minerals. The only way out was to reduce the welfare, even people who really need it cannot get it. And you won't be suprised to see trouble makers come back to the streets.

In Australia, the rules always benefit the rogue. But if they keep doing so, you cannot rely on people's conscience not to become one. Australia is safe now doesn't mean it will be safe forever, paying a protection fee won't solve the problem.

楼上从哪里查到的福利可以住比你的房子还要大的HOUSE，开着比你还要好的车，就是因为要花掉CENTERLINK给的钱？CENTERLINK哪个福利制度有这好事？我还真想了解了解，看看自己够不够格申请。
LS既然把福利当成了交保护费，不如给你个建议，把年老体衰吃福利的安乐死算了，彻底解决问题。不知道你到了65岁的时候会不会自觉行动？

很奇怪既然这样，ls还工作干嘛？如果你觉着不公平，可以去领福利，只要领福利的人多了，这个系统会自动调节。

楼上说的没错，自住房不算收入，所以在审查能否拿救济时，单纯考虑当时的收入，我认为这很合理，不必逼人因为一时没有工作而流离失所。
我之所以开这条线，不是要去惩罚那些确实为生活所迫的人们。谁没有犯难的时候？但是有人偏要钻体制的空子，明明有工作能力而不去工作。
不要说“为什么你不去领救济”？这种说法很无聊。难道看不惯有些人的行为就是羡慕这种行为么？

我lg说的好，人只要活在社会上，就是为社会做贡献了。钱是生不带来死不带走的东西。每个人的吃喝拉撒睡都或多或少的为社会发转做直接活着间接的贡献。每个人都不容易。

有自住房你申请下RENT ASSISTANCE试试，你申请下AUSTUDY试试，申请下PARENTING PAYMENT试试。你能申请得下来吗？你说的是只是那个什么失业救济金？一周才多少钱？够你那豪车交油费 豪房交水电吗？

经过大家的一番开导，lz的概念逐渐缩小，从领救济的人缩小到身强力壮领福利的人，又缩小到住毫宅开好车领福利的人。

住豪宅开好车的可不是我先说的，也不是本贴的本意。本贴也从没一杆子打倒所有领救济的人，从一开始就是针对懒人的，如果你非要强行对号入座，我也没法儿。我从没说过为生活所迫的是懒人。
