最近看了娃的数学作业,结果被数学书前面几页吸引了。 讲的东西估计这里的家长们都知道,但是书里用英文细致的写下来给娃们看,很不错。抄下来分享给大家:
1. Before you try to solve a problem, make sure that you understand the wording of the problem, its question, and any special words it might contain such as factor, digit, diagonal, and so forth. Does the problem give you too little, just enough, or too much information? Can you restate the problem in your own words? Can you guess what the answer will look like?
2. If you are not able to do the problem within the recommended time limit, ignore the time limit and conitue to work on the problem until you have a solution.
Speed is not important!
As you become more experienced with different strategies, mathematical ideas and principles, and develop your skills, the amount of time you need to od a problem will decrease naturally.
3. When you get an answer, compare it to what you thought your answer should look like. Is your answer reasonable? Re-read the problem and the question that is being asked. Now write your answer in a complete sentence. Compare it with the answer given in the Answer section. If you are satisfied with your answer, try to find a different strategy that could be used to solve the problem.
Try to relate this problem to other problems you may have solved in the past. If you used different strategies to solve the problem, compare them and try to decide which strategy is best for you. If you were able to solve the problem but experiecned some difficutly, try it again at a later date to see if you remember how your overcame your difficulties.
4. If the answers do not agree, go over your work carefully. You may have made an error in computation or in copying the given information onto your paper. If you decided that you have not made either of the errors described, read the reference for the problem in Hints. Redo the problem using the suggested hint.
If Hints does not help you, go to Sulutions and cover the solution of the problem with a sheet of paper. Reveal and read one line at a time until you think you can proceed on your own. If you are not able to proceed on your own, go over the sulution or sultisons and select the one you understand best. Study it. Try to write that solution in your own words without referring to Solutions. At a later date, try to solve the problem without referring to Solutions. This will indicate how much you have retained and learned by yourself.
5. Many of the problems will stimulate and challenge your mind. You may discover that rereading a problem and agian solving it from time to time is an enjoyable experience and will strengthen your problem solving skill. |
