新州教育部，考后改制，咱们论坛沸腾了几日，就没动静了？
是公鸡拉屎开头硬呢？还是都有鱼一样的忘性？
昨晚处于好奇，问了俱乐部三个本届精英考生，他们的回答出奇的一致，‘都考完了改policy，是wrong的’。回答得都很平静，没有激动的情绪，也都没再多说别的。

这次教育部考完了才改政策的操作，是不是已经实现了对这批孩子们的无视和伤害？

无德无能无才的我，今早向教育部发了个邮件，就告诉他们，
我们一些家长，及一些本届考生孩子们，认为你们 ‘考完了才改政策是错的，家长们相信你们的这个做法已经给部分考生心理造成了伤害，请你们考虑中止执行’。

跟我想法一样的家长，无论你的孩子是本届、往届、未来一届，就麻烦给教育部发个邮件，不用长篇大论，向我一样两三句话就足够了，为孩子们发个声。他们收到的邮件多了，就会少一些一意孤行，多一些思考，帮助他们做出更周密的win win政策，让孩子们只受益、不受害。

好像教育部对大家邮件的回复，都是官话。看来教育部长是铁了心要横到底了。
受Jungle同学的成功的启发，那咱们，不管是是不是州长选区的，也给州长选区办公室发邮件？？？刺激新州自由党去约谈他们的联盟党？？？把已经发给教育部的邮件，再发到州长办公室邮箱里？？？

这是我看到Epping选区的一个家长发给州长办公室(epping@parliament.nsw.gov.au)的邮件：



Hi, Mr. Perrottet,

I am a resident in the Epping electoral district.

The government's decision to allocate 20% of selective school places to a special group of people is unfair and unacceptable. There are many reasons why it should not be put in place.

First of all, this policy was delivered so much behind schedule. The government shouldn't make such major changes at the last minute. This will only show that the department of education lacks the ability to plan for events in the future as well as neglecting public opinion. Students who are affected by this government policy change may have spent years of effort to prepare for the test, but as the results are returned and before the hard work pays off, the government decides to put in place a plan that could potentially take this chance away from them. It's the same as trying to buy a concert ticket and right before it's your turn, your ticket is handed to the person after you, just skipping your turn. Would you accept that? The government's policy change is the same thing. Epping residents like me, won't accept that.

Secondly, the decision to reserve 20% of selective school places to certain groups of people is not fair. Getting into a selective school is not because of money, or social class. It's about accumulation of knowledge, focusing and effort. As a father, I hope you understand how unfair this is. And I hope you agree that your children's success is not because of your wealth or influence.

I agree that disadvantaged families need help. When one family needs food, we help them with food, but not by taking it from another family who also needs that. When a child can not afford education, we help her by paying the fee for her, not by telling other children to stop studying. If the government really wants to help, please do the following things: buy ballet shoes for children who like dancing but can't afford it, pay the fees for little basketball talents whose families struggle financially, and provide free coaching for poor students who want to improve their math.

2022 is a hard year for the school ages. The covid, the flood, the war and the inflation, the kids feel everything. And now your government has made it even harder. The department of education has made a big mess in the selective school test. You must take in consideration the thoughts and feelings of the people who are affected by this change. It is not something that the government should just dictate. The minister for education, who is responsible for that, should resign.

咱们非epping选区的，也可以发给他们啊，让执政新州的自由党听到我们的心声。

谢谢，我今天的分都霍霍完了，因为我刚才是一拍脑袋想起发这个帖子的，所以，明天开始的新分，就不乱花了，都加给为孩子们发生的人。

我昨天突然觉得那些孩子好可怜，因为以他们的人生经验和智慧，他们实在也说不出别的话，无法恰当表达其他的情绪。真的是让我很心疼！！！

To who it may concern,

As a fair selection method, all the selection criteria should be clearly revealed before the opening of the enrollment. It will give candidates sufficient time to estimate their chance and decide whether they should put a considerable effort to prepare for the exam.

I strongly disagree with the change of introducing the 'Equity Placement Model' after the exam has already been taken. It leaves those students who might be impacted by the new plan with no choice but to accept the result.

我发这个帖子就希望大家先不要把注意力都放在这次巨大变动的细节，如果追究细节，真是好多话可以说。可是，如果这个变动硬是此次被推出来了，那就是生米熟饭、木成舟。你们的想法再有技术含量，也只不过是嘴架一场。

帖子讨论得那么火，给谁听？
考完试以后都可以改动原录取政策和办法，就这一条如果真实现了，大家就认了无论身处何地，你自己就是永远的韭菜、割头的命吧。

那些觉得自己有钱不是韭菜的，笑话别人的同时问问自己，各大党派输送利益时，给你了吗？没有的话，那你还是根粗壮的韭菜，再扛割，不是葱啊，装什么装？

As a parent of a student who sit for the OC exam on the 28th of July this year, I would like to raise my concerns about the Equity Placement Model for OC and SHS, and I believe my concerns are shared by most if not all parents ( even the students themselves) of the students who have sit the exam this year and will sit the exam in the future.

First, I do agree that we need to support disadvantaged communities and students, however, I strongly disagree it’s fair to cut off 20% of the places from other students and pass it to those who otherwise will not be selected based on their exam marks. Instead, the government should increase the places available for OC and SHS so that more students can access them. This is not much different when we talk about the unemployment rate. The government should create more jobs to lower the unemployment rate instead of having two or more people share one job so that the unemployment rate looks better.

Second, it’s too rushed to apply this new model without consulting the communities, especially those who sit the exam this year, who otherwise could take a different approach if the new model were announced before their application, this includes those from the four categories (low socio-educational advantage backgrounds, Aboriginal, rural and remote locations and disability).

Third, Review of Selective Education Access identified an action plan to deliver a modern, world-class selection system, which is designed to focus on ability not background, however, the Equity Placement Model is completely against this action plan by reserving 20% of the places for those who otherwise have no chance to be selected.



Last not least, without knowing their performance (score and reserve list position) , how could the students know how they did in the exam? How could the parents/students make their choice of whether to wait for the reserve list or go elsewhere (accepting the offer or choosing a private school). As we all know, every year there are students who have got incorrect scores and they successfully got their scores corrected and managed to receive an offer in the end. Without knowing their test scores, how could those students tell whether they should request a results inquiry? Without the test scores but just reserve bands, how can it be transparent that the one at a higher position gets selected before the one at a lower position?

Again, as mentioned earlier, the education system is very critical to a county that wants to stay ahead, we need to have a modern, world-class selection system that can select the most talented students based on their ability but not their background. Those kids who are not able to get into OC or SHS can still make a great contribution to society and the country in a different way. This is no different from the election system for state government or even local council, whoever has the right ability to serve the community better gets elected. Simple as that.

我大致弄了一下。
我觉得先把这个政策拖下来最重要，写的时候就主要围绕着这个就可以。

I was ________ by the recent policy change from our NSW education department and I can’t express how _________ I am.

It is a very unclear policy change coming from a （赞美形容词） and （赞美形容词）intention, with little notice and much deliberation to surprise all parents, especially those whose kids have got involved in this year's OC/Selective exams.

As parents, we have informed nothing before these huge changes which would make big differences to our kids' future made by our education department.  I would like to know:（这个可有可没有）

With many other parents, including our kids, we all believe an additional 20% of places reserved for disadvantaged students would benefit them, and NO students should be reduced by your new policy and become the victims of this policy.

补充一下刚听说的，
说教育部最可能装聋作哑然后一下子就执行了，让那些正在为此努力的家长一场空。好像时间不多了，没几天了。
大家多发邮件不仅可帮忙造势，也许还可以多争取一些时间。
