Dense, inky purple-red; open-fermented, basket-pressed and matured in oak for 18 months; a very potent wine with prune, poached plum and licorice fruit supported by ripe tannins and oak. Just escapes the alcohol trap; 135 cases made, 50% with screwcap, 50% with cork.

Deep purple-crimson; the vineyard corners the century-old Schubert home, attesting to the use the land once had. Open-fermented, basket-pressed and matured in barrel for 22 months; an opulent, medium- to full-bodied wine with a cascade of black fruits and licorice, the tannins fine and - of course - ripe. Where it all began for the Schuberts. |
